Ignacio Vasquez, Jr.

Mr. Ignacio Vasquez, Jr., entered eternal life on Saturday,  April 8, 2023, at the age of eighty-seven years old.

Ignacio was born to Ignacio Vasquez, Sr., and Francis Lightbourne on July 6, 1935, in Brownsville, Texas.

He is preceded in death by his parents; Ignacio Vasquez, Sr.†, and Francis Lightbourne †, one daughter; Ester Vasquez †, two sons; Jose Daniel Vasquez†, and Ignacio Vasquez, III †, and grandson; Louis Ignacio Vasquez †.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of fifty-eight years; Carmen Montelongo Vasquez, his children; Bianca Estela (Efrain) Gutierrez, Rosario (Polo) Salazar, David (Margie) Vasquez, Evangelina (Sergio) Vasquez Izaguirre, Ella Vasquez, Esmeralda (Miguel) Sifuentes, Pearl Sanford (Kenn Kade), and Daughter-in-law; Mary Vasquez,  twenty-nine grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and great great-grandchildren as well as numerous relatives and friends.

Public visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 13, 2023, with a holy rosary at 7:00 p.m. in the North Chapel at Trevino Funeral Home, 1355 Old Port Isabel Rd. in Brownsville, Texas.

Public visitation will continue Friday, April 14, 2023, at 8:15 am to 1:00 pm.

Funeral mass will be at St. Luke Catholic Church at 2:00 pm, 2800 Rockwell Dr. in Brownsville, Texas.

Burial will be at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens at 3:00 pm, at 4464 Old Port Isabel Rd. in Brownsville, Texas.
