Hugh Donald Lamb, 74, passed away on May 14, 2009 after a lengthy illness in Brownsville Texas. He was born on July 5, 1934 in Western North Carolina to the late Violet Ramsey and Perry Lamb of Paint Rock, North Carolina. He graduated from High School where he excelled in sports and music. He was an invaluable playerathlete for the Blue Devils and was selected to the Madison All Star Team. As a gifted musician, he was featured as the staring soloist in the schools many pageants, concerts and operettas. He loved to sing and play his guitar for family and friends and once sang in a gospel quartet featured weekly on the local radio station of Black Mountain. After graduating from high school, he worked in the automobile industry in Cleveland, Ohio. He later joined the United States Army and served in the Paratrooper
ision at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. After his tour of duty, he was employed by Singer Corp. in Black Mountain, North Carolina while earning a degree in Electrical Mechanics from Ashvilles Bun Combe College. He advanced to Management status in Black Mountain before being transferred to the Brownsville, Texas
ision as plant manager and soon promoted to the plant director. Here he met and married his beloved wife Angie Crader and established a wonderful home. After retirement, he stayed in contact with his friends via email. He enjoyed watching sporting events, excessively reading numerous daily newspapers, and loved traveling with his vivacious wife. He and his wife annually looked forward to traveling to Hot Springs, North Carolina to participate in his high school reunion which was one of the highlights of their year. He was loved by all and will be dearly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents Perry and Violet Lamb, his daughter Terry Padgett. He is survived by his loyal wife of 30 years Angie Lamb. Survived by his three siblings Nancy Lamb of Augusta, GA. Patsy Jarvis of Asheville, NC, Gregory Lamb of Jefferson, GA., his daughters Joyce Mounts, Brenda Saenz, Sharon Pruett, his special daughter Wendy Crader and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
