Homero Partida entered into eternal rest on Monday, October 30, 2019, at the age of ninety-four.
Mero, which is his nickname, was born to Gregorio Partida and Cenaida Sanchez Partida in 1925 in Mexico; where he learned many traits and proudly passed down to his children to keep the tradition. He moved to Brownsville, Texas where he raised his children and worked many years at the Port of Brownsville. He was deeply loved and will be dearly missed.
Homero was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife Anita Partida; their children Alejos Partida, Hilda Partida, Cenaida Ortega, Yolanda Ruiz and is survived by his loving children Homer (Eva) Partida Jr., Gloria (Ruben) Garcia, Juanita Alcala, Juana Jesusa (Felipe) Garza, Victor (Rachel) Partida. Also, to treasure many memories are his twenty grandchildren, forty seven great-grandchildren, six great- great grandchildren and extended family members.
Visitation will be from 12 noon to 9 p.m. on Sunday, November 3, 2019, with a recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. in the South Chapel of Treviño Funeral Home. Visitation resumes 8:15 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. Monday, November 4, 2019 with a funeral mass is scheduled 10 a.m. at San Eugenio de Mazenod located at 5409 Austin Road in Brownsville, Texas 78521. Rite of committal will follow at Guillen Community Cemetery.
