Hipolito "Paul" Salazar, born on December 1, 1933 to his parents Eusebio and Felipa Salazar in Eagle Lake, Texas, passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Valley Regional Medical Center in Brownsville, Texas. He was eighty-four years old.
When he was young, he worked on ranches in Texas, later moving to Michigan where he was a factory worker. He loved to fish and had the joy of fishing at the Great Lakes of Michigan; he also loved to farm, raise farm animals, which he was great at, and enjoyed gardening. Hipolito loved his family in Michigan and Texas and often came to visit Eagle Lake. He loved to laugh and party and be with friends and was always there to lend a helping hand to his friends when in need. There is a quote, "They are not dead who live in the hearts they leave behind." - Tuscarora so therefore he will live forever. He was deeply loved and will be dearly missed.
His father, Eusebio Salazar, and his daughter, Antonia "Mary" Salazar Sharrod of Houston, Texas, preceded him in death.
Paul is survived by his loving wife Brenda Salazar; his seven children Eusebio "Sonny" Salazar of Adrian, Michigan, Rebecca "Becky" Salazar of Douglas, Georgia, Gracie Salazar of San Angelo, Texas, Juan "Johnny" Salazar of Adrian, Michigan, David Salazar of Adrian, Michigan, and Rose Salazar Johnson of Adrian, Michigan; and his mother, Felipa Salazar. Also, to treasure many memories are his fourteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren whom he loved with all his heart as well as numerous extended family members.
A memorial service will be held at two o'clock in the afternoon on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at the Jesus Is My Refuge Church, 408 N. Stevenson Street, Eagle Lake, Texas 77434. Friends are invited to feel free to share pictures and stories.
