George Alvarez
August 31, 1940-September 19, 2021
George was born in Brownsville Texas where he completed school all the way through high school, graduating in 1960. He tried his hand at college but ended up getting notice to join the military. He joined the US Air Force in 1962. He ended up going through aircraft mechanic school and found out that he was good at it. He has worked on all kinds of aircrafts to include F-105, F-111 and A-10. He Met Belen Fierro at Webb Air Force base in Big Spring Texas and soon married.
After Vietnam they traveled all over the world to include the Philippines, England, and multiple states such as Nevada and Louisiana. He retired in Dallas Texas and earned a second retirement with the US postal service. He then was a crossing guard for a local school because he was not done yet.
George loved to fish and hunt and to just be with Family. His favorite meal was anything sweet washed down with a glass of cold milk. A good debate of politics with anyone willing to spare would just make his day.
George is survived by his wife, Belen Alvarez, Daughter and son n law Delma & Rick Santa Cruz, Son and Daughter n law Richard and Wassana Alvarez, Grand children Mariah ( his Treasure)Destiny Santana and Husband Cris Santana and Gabriel ( His Boy) George Santa Cruz as well as many cousins and extended family.
He Lived and loved the life that he had .
He will be missed greatly

Rest in peace
Visitation will be from 2 pm to 9 pm on Friday, October 1st, 2021, with a Rosery at 7 pm in the North Chapel of Trevino Funeral Home. Visitation will resume at 8:15 am to 9:15 am on Saturday, October 2nd, 2021, Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church at 10 am on Saturday, October 2nd, 2021. Rite of committal will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens with military honors.
