Francisco Carlos Castillo, passed away on September 21, 2023, in his hometown of Brownsville, Texas at the age of seventy-five years old. Born on November 24, 1947, in Brownsville, he was the son of Cirilo Castillo† and Irene Garza Castillo†.
Francisco dedicated his life to serving his country in several wars and retired with pride as a U.S. Army Veteran. His selflessness and commitment to duty were commendable qualities that shaped his character and endeared him to all who knew him. Francisco's bravery and sacrifice in the line of duty will always be remembered and respected.
Beyond his military service, Francisco was a man whose love for his family knew no bounds. It was through these connections that he truly shined. He leaves behind a rich tapestry of memories that highlight the love he held for those closest to him. The bridge between generations has never been stronger than through the adoration Francisco had for his daughter Maria "Mary" Esmeralda Castillo.
Francisco was a pillar of strength not only within his family but also within his community. He was a devout Catholic with unwavering faith and dedication to the Catholic religion was always available to volunteer and serve when asked.
His kind and hardworking nature earned him the utmost respect from all who had the privilege of crossing paths with him. He dedicated himself to making a positive impact on the lives of others.
Visitation will take place Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the North Chapel of Trevino Funeral Home located at 1355 Old Port Isabel Rd, Brownsville, Texas with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 PM.
Services will resume with a funeral mass on Thursday, September 28, 2023, at St. Joseph Catholic Church located at 555 W St Francis St, Brownsville, Texas at 10:00 AM with burial to follow at 1:00 PM at Rio Grande Valley State Veteran's Cemetery, 2520 Inspiration Rd., Mission Texas.
Francisco is preceded in death by his parents, Cirilo Castillo†, and Irene Garza Castillo†, and his loving wife Maria Guadalupe Castillo†.
Left to cherish his memory is his beloved daughter, Maria "Mary" Esmeralda (Luz Penuela) Castillo, brother Jose Gilberto Castillo and numerous relatives and friends. While the pain of his departure weighs heavy on their hearts, the memories they shared with him will forever serve as a beacon of love and inspiration. Carlos' parents, Cirilo Castillo†, and Irene Garza†, and his loving wife Maria Guadalupe Castillo† preceded him in death.
In this time of mourning, let us remember Francisco not only as an honorable U.S. Army Veteran but also as a man who exemplified love, kindness, and hard work. His legacy will continue to be cherished by all those blessed to have known him. May he rest in eternal peace knowing that his impact on this world will never fade away.
