On Sunday, January 5, 2025, Frances Gutierrez was called to join our Lord God in heaven surrounded by family.
Frances was a woman of profound faith and strength who loved her family and friends deeply. She embraced living in the moment and enjoying life. Frances was her family’s sunshine, and her joy will live on through her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
A graduate of Henrietta M. King High School in Kingsville, Texas, Frances met the love of her life Clemente Gutierrez three years later while working at Perry’s. Upon marrying, she became a passionate mother and homemaker, setting high expectations and encouraging lifelong learning. All four of Frances’s children graduated from Texas A&M University in College Station, and each went on to obtain post graduate degrees. A skilled seamstress, Frances loved baking and tending her garden, passions that she passed to her children and grandchildren. Outside of the home, Frances worked as a substitute teacher, served as a Cub Scout Den Mother, and volunteered with the church, band, and 4-H. Once a grandmother, Frances set out to be just as involved in the lives of her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Dora (Doug) Borgo of Berryville, Virginia, Dalia Gutierrez of CalAllen, Texas, Diana Gutierrez (Russell Cowdrey) of Coppell, Texas and Omar (Josie) Gutierrez of Austin, Texas, her ten wonderful grandchildren, Jacqueline Renee (Zach), Roberto Adrian, Briana Celeste, Alberto Carlos, Javier Andres, Annabelle Nicole, Elena Isabel, Marisa Lizette, Karina Alejandra, and Enrique Agustin; her four step grandsons, Rickman Parker, Keenan Douglass, Reece Campion and Reagan Clark, and her great granddaughter, Aurelia Mae.
Frances is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Gabriela and Sarah, her brother-in-law, Ubense, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 40 years, Clemente, her sisters, Maria Elena and Rosalinda, her sister-in-law, Adelina, her brother, Ruben, brother-in-law, Alfredo Jr, her mother-in-law, Sara, and her father-in-law, Alfredo Sr.
