Evangelina Zapata

Evangelina R. Zapata entered into eternal rest on Thursday, April 11, 2019 at the age of eighty-six.

Evangelina was born to Erasmo and Modesta Rodriguez in Brownsville, Texas. She was deeply loved and will be dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her two brothers Roberto Rodriguez, Rodolfo Rodriguez and a sister Guadalupe Velez; a son-in-law Andres Morales and is survived by her loving children Odelia Zapata, Federico Zapata, Ricardo Zapata Jr., Adela Avila, Irene Morales. Also, to treasure many memories are numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren; daughters-in-law Amparo Zapata, Naty Zapata; son-in-law Gregorio Avila; her siblings Reynaldo Rodriguez, Ruben Rodriguez, Rogelio Rodriguez, Olivia Rodriguez, Margarita Barrientos and extended family members.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, April 12, 2019, with a recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. in the North Chapel of Trevino Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be held 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at Christ the King Catholic Church located at 2255 Southmost Road in Brownsville, Texas. Rite of committal will follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
