Eusebio Ybarra

December 16, 1931 — February 12, 2011

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and greatgrandfather entered his eternal life with the Lord at his residence in Brownsville, Texas on February 12, 2011. Mr. Ybarra was born on December 16, 1931 in Bryan, Texas and died on the day of his 56th wedding anniversary with his beloved wife Juanita Ybarra.

Mr. Ybarra is preceded in death by his parents Apolinario Ybarra and Sabina Valdez. Also preceding him in death are his brothers Raul Ybarra and Jorge Rodriguez and his daughter Reyna Ybarra.

Chevo, as he was known by his friends and all the people that loved him, was an outgoing friendly person. He loved his family, being social and had great love for his music. Chevo loved playing the accordion, guitar, and recording his music. When his children were young, he would write songs for them and sing to them at night as they all sat around and enjoyed their personalized songs. In the 1980s Chevo, along with his son Joe, formed the band Chevo y sus muchachos. During those years they played in many weddings, quinceaneras, pool halls, and appeared on television several times. Chevo took great pride in his music and recorded various CDs in which he included many songs that he cowrote with his son Joe.

Left to cherish his memory and miss him dearly are his wife of 56 years Juanita Medrano Ybarra, three sons: Jose Angelina Ybarra, Eusebio Ozzy Sandra Lopez Ybarra, Reynaldo Ybarra, six daughters: Guadalupe Jose Luis Castillo, Rebecca Fernando Cabrera, Rosalinda Alanis, Yolanda Altamirano, Irma Calderon, and Graciela Samuel Chong. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 19 greatgrandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. and continue through 9 p.m. with the recitation of the holy rosary at 7 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 14, at Trevino Funeral Home. The burial mass will be on Tuesday Feb. 15, 2011 at 2 pm at the St. Lukes Catholic Church and interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial.
