It is with great sadness that the family of Epimeñio Cruz announce of his passing. He passed away Saturday, August 21, 2021 at the age of sixty-two years old.
“Epi” as we know him by, was born to Miguel and Adela Cruz in 1959 in Harlingen, Texas. In his younger years, they lived in Michigan, where his family worked as migrant workers. Later they moved to the Valley where they resided in Brownsville, Texas. Epi was full of humor and lightened the room by his fun character. He was avid reader and showed much interest in Cowboy novels especially with author Louis L’Amour. To respect his final wishes, he was an organ donor which meant so much for him and his family to help improve and positively impact the lives of others. He was deeply loved and will be dearly missed by family and friends.
Epi was preceded in death by; his father, Miguel Cruz; his sister, Maria G. Cantu and is survived by; his mother, Adela H. Cruz; his siblings, Juan Miguel Cruz, Leonor Cantu, George Cruz and Robert Cruz. Epi leaves behind four children; Juan Martin Segura and his wife Cindy Buentello, Ivonne Michelle Cruz and her husband David Ledezma, Beth Mary Cruz, Stephanie D. Cruz. Also, to treasure many memories are his six grandchildren; Atriana N. Anderson, Thomas G. Ledezma, Sophie O. Ledezma, Andrejah L. Lozano, Christian I. Ruelas, Dalilah M. Ruelas; Epi’s companion Christina Aguilera, the mother of his children Aurora Segura, extended family members and a host of friends.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday, August 26, 2021, with a Holy Rosary at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Treviño Funeral Home. Services will conclude; to respect his wishes, cremation will follow.
