Emilio Lara Jr., a loving son, brother, and uncle, passed away on November 3, 2024, in Pharr, Texas. Emilio was born on February 13, 1970, in Brownsville, Texas, where he developed a life characterized by compassion and joy. Emilio dedicated his career to healthcare, working as a Registered Nurse Supervisor, a role that exemplified his deep commitment to helping others.
Emilio loved anything Sci-Fi related like Lord Of The Rings and Harry Potter, as well as Star Trek and Game of Thrones. Those who had the privilege of knowing Emilio remember him as the life of the party. His warm personality and infectious spirit could light up any room he entered, making those around him feel valued and cherished. Emilio was not only loving but also selfless, always ready to lend a hand to those in need.
He is survived by his devoted parents, Emilio R. Lara and Gertrude Mendieta Lara, who instilled in him the values of kindness and generosity. He leaves behind his beloved siblings, Liza Ann Lara, Tanya Lara (Imelda Salinas), and Frank Karl (Becky Lugo) Lara. Emilio was an adoring uncle to his nieces: Devann Lara, Samantha Jo Aramburu, Tiffany Ann Aramburu, and Emily Meagan Lara-Dominguez (Hector Luis Dominguez), as well as to Rebecca De Hoyos, Samantha De Hoyos, and Michelle De Hoyos. He also cherished his nephew, Isaac De Hoyos, and took delight in the company of his four great grandnieces and grandnephews: Dylan Noah Aramburu, Hayley Ann Garcia, Derek Emilio Aramburu, and Olivia Josephine Pro.
Emilio was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Felix Lara and Amelia Lara, and his maternal grandparents, Anita Sziel and Francisco Mendieta. Although they are no longer with us, their memories will forever resonate within the hearts of his family.
