Brownsville, TX Elvia Gonzalez Martinez, 69, entered into eternal rest on May 11, 2013 surrounded by those who loved her.
Elvia, was born on May 17, 1943. She lived in Brownsville, Texas all her life, she attended school and later on created a family of her own. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. She will be remembered for her caring motherly nature, her selflessness, and her friendliness. Elvia was always one to enjoy family and friends and lived her life to the fullest. She had the ability to brighten up a room as soon as she walked in. Anywhere she went, whether she knew you or not, she would make conversation and by the end of time there you were friends. She always had the right words to say and always looked past ones flaws. In her lifetime she was a friendly, caring person who met and cared for many too numerous to mention. There were a few, however, who stood out such as Tom Coyle, Katherina Nobel and especial Miguel Angel Garcia and Kevin Escalante who became like family. She will be missed and remembered fondly by those who knew her.
She is joined in heaven by her parents Rodolfo Garza Gonzalez Julia Palacios Gonzalez sister: Celia Silvabrother: Carlos Gonzalez, and nephews: Jaime Silva Ismael Gonzalez.
She is survived by her loving husband: Mario Alberto Martinez daughter: Nora Hilda Manuel Sanchez sons: Mario Alberto Nina Martinez Jr. and Marco Antonio Martinez all of Brownsville. Four wonderful grandchildren: Krystal Evette Sanchez, Felipe Diaz Jr., Sabrina Renae Sanchez, Sydnie Victoria Sanchez all from Brownsville. Brothers: Reynaldo Oralia Gonzalez of Bishop, TX, Tomas Sara Gonzales of Bay City, TX, Rodolfo Letty Gonzalez of Brownsville. Her sisters:Rosalinda Garza of Brownsville, Ester Ricardo Hinojosa of Los Fresnos, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
