Elida Gomez

It is with a heavy heart to announce that Elida C. Gomez entered into eternal rest on October 2nd, 2020 at the age of eighty-five years old.

Elida was born to Pedro and Manuela G. Castro in 1935 in Brownsville, Texas. She was deeply loved and will be dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Tomas Gomez; her parents and Elida’s siblings; Pedro Castro Jr., Guadalupe Castro, Jose Castro, Manuela Salinas, Juanita Campos and Sara Gutierrez. Surviving family to treasure many memories are her loving children; Margarita Muñoz and her husband Albert, Tomas Gomez and his wife Jessica, Cynthia Muñoz and her husband Joe; grandchildren, Bryan Gomez, Victor Martinez, Albert Muñoz III, Mia Jo Muñoz, Brandon Muñoz, Brandy Sanchez, Niles Muñoz; great-grandchildren, Oscar Cuellar, Aiden Martinez, Jordan Muñoz, Jeremiah Muñoz, Robert Sanchez, Shilo Sanchez, Brody Sanchez, Christopher Sanchez, Benjamin Muñoz, Jay Muñoz and Zariah Muñoz . Also, to cherish many memories are her siblings; Francisco Castro, Erasmo Castro, Teresa Castro and extended family members.

Visitation will be from 12 noon to 7 p.m. on Monday, October 12, 2020 with a prayer service at 6:00 p.m. at Treviño Funeral Home. Visitation resumes from 8:15 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 13, 2020 with a chapel service scheduled at 11 a.m. Rite of committal will follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Honored to serve as Elida’s pallbearers are; Victor Martinez, Bryan Gomez, Albert Muñoz III, Niles Muñoz, Brandon Muñoz, Erasmo Castro Jr.; Honorary Pallbearers are Albert Muñoz Jr. and Joe Muñoz.
