Duane Cox

Duane Tilden Cox entered into eternal rest on July 25, 2009 at Solara Hospital in Harlingen, Tx. He is preceaded in death by his parents Tilden Powers Cox Ruth Elizabeth Wells Cox, and his brother George Wells Cox.

He is survived by his life partner Raymundo Capetillo their loving pet Dandee from Brownsville, Tx. His Sister-in-Law Janelle R. Cox, Neice Angela D. Stodolkiewicz both of Roseville, Illinois, Nephew Aaron Dennis Cox of Chatham Illinois, 1 grand nephew and 4 grand nieces.

Duane lived a successful life, and pursued many careers. Born in Macomb Illinois, he entered into the national guard in 1947 and graduated from high school in 1948 from Roseville, Illinois. He joined the U.S. Air Force where he became an Airman 1st Class, and was in active duty from Feb. 1951- October 1953, after which he remained in the reserves from October 1953-October 1959.

During his time in the reserves he attended many Universities such as Eastern New Mexico, Western Illinois, Oklahoma State, University of Alaska the University of Illinois where he graduated in 1957 with a Bachelor of Science in Commerce and Law. He was also part of the Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity.

He worked for Continental National Insurance from 1957 - 1964, Associated Claims Services Partner from 1964-1968 , and Oklahoma Furniture Manufacturing from 1968-1985 where he retired from as a Risk Manager.

He was involved in many organizations . Duane had a love for the outdoors, the beach and weather. He enjoyed his 7 a.m. coffee every morning with local farmers. The last 5 years of his life were the greatest, where he spent his days with his partner Ray Ray. He had such a care and warming heart and was declared a true friend till the end, always with a smile. He will be greatly missed.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Trevino Funeral Home 1355 Old Port Isabel Road, 956-542-2583. Visitations will be from 10 am 9pm Monday, July 27, 2009 with a Funeral Service at 7pm. Following arrangements will be entrusted to Corman Funeral Home in Roseville, Illinois where family will recieve friends from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday, July 30, 2009 with funeral service to begina t 11 a.m. at Corman Funeral Home, 309426-2211. Interment will follow at at Glade Cemetery in Blandinsville, Ill.

Military honors will be conducted at the graveside.
