Daniel Montes, 94, of Brownsville, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, January 21, 2016. in Brownsville, Texas.
Daniel Montes left a mark that will last for generations to come. There was so much to love about him From his infectious smile and love for life, to his flare for dancing. He made those around him happy. In an era of technology, Danny possessed a gift for masonry that could not be replicated by any machine. Though he was small in stature, his contributions to Brownsville will stand forever tall. He was "one of a kind"
Mr. Montes is survived by his children Daniel J. (Mary) Montes Jr., Thomas G. Montes, Emilio I Montes, Mary Catherine Montes(Robert)Crowe, Caroline "Cary"(Joe E.) Huntsman, Walter A. (Sheila) Montes, and numerous Grandchildren ,Greatgrandchildren and Great Great- Grandchildren; brother Issac Montes and sister Matilda Montes Calzada
Mr. Montes is preceded in death by his wife of 54 years Caroline Fay Montes; His Parents Mr. And Mrs Tomas and Rafaela Gonzales Montes; brother Gilbert Montes.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 9 p.m., Friday, January 29, 2016 with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7 p.m. in the North Chapel of Trevino Funeral Home.
Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 30, 2016, at St. Luke Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park. Reception will be held at the Knights of Columbus Hall following the service.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Michael E. Montes, James E. Montes, Tommy Montes, Mark A. Montes, Paul Watts and Matthew G. Montes.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Daniel J. Montes Jr., Thomas G Montes, Emilio I Montes, Daniel J. Montes, and Walter A Montes.
