Clarence Newell Jr

Clarence M. Newell Jr, 86, entered into eternal life on October 26, 2009 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Brownsville , Texas.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Raquel Serrata Newell; two daughters, Diana Newell Jesse Brookover; Perla Newell Alfonso Gutierrez; one sister, Frances Newell Duarte , 4 grandchildren; James Brookover, Andrew, Ashley, and Aaron Gutierrez.

Mr. Newell was a United States Army-Air Force Veteran during World War II. He was a Radio Man on B29 Bomber and retired from the service as a Sergeant. Military Honors will be under the direction of the American Legion Post 43 Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be Andrew , Alfonso Gutierrez, Robert Newell , Fernando Rodriguez , Hector Guerrero and Arturo Serrata III.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Daniel Ruben Guerrero and Robert Duarte Jr.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday October 27, 2009 with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at Trevino Home South Chapel officated by Rev. Jesse Brookover. Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday October 28, 2009 officiated by Rev. Jesse Brookover. Interment will follow to Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
