PORT ISABEL, TX. - Bobby Gene Davidson, 85, passed away on Wednesday, December 27, 2017.
Bobby served our country as a veteran of the United States Navy. He married the love of his life, Anna Lucille Adkins, in 1955. Later, he graduated from the University of Kansas as an electrical engineer, then worked for Sperry in Salt Lake City, Utah. In 1962, they moved to St. Louis, Missouri where Bobby began working for McDonnell Douglas. There, he worked on the Gemini spacecraft and Harpoon missile system before ultimately retiring in 1990. Upon retiring, Bobby and Lucille moved down to Port Isabel, Texas and became full-time Winter Texans for about the last fifteen years. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, metal working, and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan.
His father, Vernon Davidson; mother, Ruby (Higgs) Davidson McGaugh; step-father, Lynn "Pappy" McGaugh; and son, Michael W. Davidson, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his loving wife of sixty-two years, Lucille Davidson; their son, Scott E. Davidson; and granddaughter, Riley L. Davidson.
A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held on Wednesday, January 3, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. in the Rec Hall of the Long Island Village, 33772 S. Garcia Street, Port Isabel, Texas 78578.
