Beverly Sue Ward, 67, entered into eternal life on November 7, 2009 at her residence on South Padre Island Texas.

Beverly graduated in 1960 from Ellsworth High in Ellsworth, Kansas. Shortly after she moved to Pasedena, California where she worked as a secretary in the banking business, She later moved to central Colorado where she spent 20 years. Beverly dearly loved the mountains and all nature had to give. Eight years ago Beverly moved to South Padre Island for the warmer climate where she lived until her death. She loved the ocean and walked the beach everyday. Everything in nature was a treasure for her. Beverly recently got involved in the civic life of the island. She loved to help everyone and always could bring a smile and laugh to anyone. She had many friends there and will be dearly missed by all. A special thanks to Natalia Bradley and Sue Davis of Odyssey Healthcare for the excellent care and love they showed during her care in home hospice.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Helen G. Mathias Whitcher, her father Otis Whitcher, two brothers, Donald Whitcher and Hubert Whitcher.

She is survived by her two brothers, Gary Whitcher of Troup, Tx. and Robert L. Whitcher of Raleigh ,North Carolina, one sister, Carol Rodebaugh of Buena Vista, Colorado, her special campanion, Les Datesman of South Padre Island, Texas.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday November 12, 2009 at 2 p.m. graveside at Mount Olive Cemetery under the direction of Lewis and Glenn Funeral Steven Mortuary, 203 E. Sachkett, Salida, Co. 81291 719539-3831.
