Benita Amieva (Torres) was born on March 21, 1940, and passed away peacefully on March 10, 2025, in Brownsville, Texas.
Benita was known as a giving person, always willing to help those around her. She enjoyed taking care of her plants and found joy in collecting knickknacks.
She is survived by her brother, Largo Torres; her children, Rosemary Torres Morales, Redolfo Jr., and Roberto, nieces, Christna and Norma, two granddaughters, Manuela and April, eleven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Benita was preceded in death by her parents, Eutiquio Torres and Sarah Guzman, her siblings, Pablo Torres, Manuel Torres, Alvina Perez, Lola Sosa, and Eugenio Torres and her grandson, Antonio Morales.
Her family and friends will gather to honor her at Trevino Funeral Home-Old Port Isabel Rd., in Brownsville, Texas. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 20 from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM, followed by a Rosary at 7:00 PM. The next day, the visitation will resume from 8:15 AM until 9:00 AM, with a chapel service starting at 9:00 AM. The burial will take place at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens at 10:00 AM on Friday, March 21, 2025.
