Aurora Najera Garcia, a cherished daughter, loving mother, devoted grandmother, and loyal sister, passed away peacefully on December 21, 2025, in Harlingen, Texas. Born on May 24, 1948, in Brownsville, Texas, Aurora touched many lives with her personality and spirit.
Known for her humor and the love she shared with everyone around her; Aurora was a woman whose actions were indeed louder than words. She led with grace and often took charge in situations, embodying strength and compassion. Her loved ones will remember her not only for the laughter she brought into their lives but also for the warmth she extended to all.
A passionate green thumb, she found great joy in nurturing her plants and delighted in the beauty of the beach.
Aurora is survived by her beloved daughter, Debbie Soriano, and her three cherished grandchildren: Angelica Soriano (Kharlie), Javier Soriano, and Gabriel Soriano. She is also survived by her brothers, Israel Najera Jr., Daniel Najera, Ismael Najera, and Enrique Najera and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jose F. Garcia, her parents, Israel and Maria, as well as her sisters, Angelica Garcia and Elisa Najera, and her brother, Desiderio Najera.
May Aurora rest in eternal peace, leaving behind memories that will forever reside in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Visitation will be held at Trevino Funeral Home in Brownsville on Friday, December 26, 2025, beginning at 10:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Following the visitation, a chapel service will take place from 1:30 PM to 2:30 p.m. Aurora will be laid to rest at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens in Brownsville on the same day, December 26, 2025, at 3:00 PM.
