Augustina Luna

Augustina Luna, born on August 29, 1944, in Brownsville, Texas, passed away peacefully on October 17, 2025. She was known for her happy and cheerful personality, always smiling and caring for those around her. Augustina had a heart full of love and was often the go-to person for advice, as she was always worried about everyone else.

She enjoyed various hobbies that brought her much joy. Augustina loved reading mystery books and spent many hours engaged in word searches. She also had a fondness for collecting items featuring cardinals and peacocks. Decorating for the holidays was a passion of hers, and she delighted in making Christmas cookies that brought warmth and sweetness to family gatherings. Above all, she cherished her family deeply.

Augustina is survived by her loving daughter, Magdalena “Maggie” Luna, siblings, Rosa Gracia, Raquel Cantu, Silvestre Infante Jr., Valentin Infante and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded by her beloved husband, Jose Miguel Luna, son, Juan Luna, parents, Silvestre Infante and Manuela Torres and siblings, Isabel Deimes, Maria Reyna, Cristina Gonzalez, Ramon Infante and Benito Infante.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at Trevino Funeral Home located at 1355 Old Port Isabel Rd, Brownsville, TX 78521. The visitation will start at 2:00 p.m. and end at 9:00 p.m., followed by a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. The visitation will continue on Friday, October 24, 2025, starting from 8:15 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., followed by a chapel service from 2:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. The burial will take place at Roselawn Memorial Gardens from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM.

Augustina will be remembered for her caring spirit, her infectious smile, and the love she shared with everyone she met. She touched many lives and will be greatly missed.
