Arnulfo Herrera entered into eternal rest on Monday, April 5th, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. He was ninety-three years old.
In 1927, Arnulfo was born to Mr. Guadalupe and Pilar G. Herrera in Mexico. Shortly after he lived in Brownsville, Texas where he became a life-long resident. His favorite trade was construction in heavy duty equipment operator so he made it his career with working with bulldozers and backhoes. He served approximately thirty years employed with CE Boyd and Son Construction Company where he worked with heavy duty equipment. Although he retired; he still enjoyed keeping busy in his trade he was gifted of. He was an active volunteer at St. Luke Catholic Church and has accumulated a twenty-five year honor in serving his parish. He was deeply loved and will be dearly missed.
He was preceded in death by parents; his siblings, Consuelo Ruiz, Ruben Herrera, Manuel Herrera, Rodolfo Herrera, Raul Herrera and is survived by his loving wife of many years of matrimony Mrs. Sara G. Herrera and their two daughters, Norma Scullane and her husband George and Sara Guerrero, widowed of Darryl Guerrero. Also, to treasure many memories are his siblings; Roberto Herrera, Reyes Herrera, Margarita Herrera Enriquez; three grandchildren, Hilary Scullane, Brendan Scullane, Victoria Fernandez; one great grandchild Jaxon Scullane and extended family members.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 8th, 2021, with a recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. in the North Chapel of Treviño Funeral Home. Visitation resumes from 8:15 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, April 9th, 2021 with a Funeral Mass scheduled at 1:30 p.m. at St. Luke Catholic Church located at 2800 Rockwell Drive in Brownsville, Texas 78521. Rite of committal will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park.
