Anne Coisman

January 31, 1915 — June 29, 2015

Anne K. (Brandl) Coisman, 100 years old, passed away in Brownsville, Texas on June 29, 2015. She was born to Charles and Barbara (Seidl)Brandl in the Town of Nasewaupee, Door County, Wisconsin on January 31, 1915. She spent most of her life in Door County. Anne graduated from Sturgeon Bay High School, then attended Kewaunee Normal School, and Stevens Point Teachers' College. She married Harry J. Coisman on May 22, 1940. Anne taught school at Lincoln School in Nasewaupee, Brussels Grade School, and Maplewood Grade School. She also did substitute teaching for many years after retiring from full-time teaching. She was a member of District Seven, Town of Nasewaupee, Lincoln School Board. For 35 years Anne led the 4-H programs in the area. She was also a member of Holy Name of Mary Parish in Maplewood, Wisconsin, where she taught CCD, belonged to the Ladies Altar Society, was on the board of the Diocesan Council of Catholic Women, and a member of the Catholic Daughters, Court Pere Marquette No. 1058. She also served on the Door County Library Board and the Door County Commission on Aging.

After retiring from the farm, which she loved so very much, Anne and Harry spent winters in Brownsville, Texas. She was an officer for the Brownsville Winter Residents Club, was active at St. Luke Parish, a member of St. Luke Altar Society, and also involved in teaching CCD. She volunteered teaching children to read at various schools in Brownsville, Texas. Anne was an avid flower gardener and a member if the Sturgeon Bay Home and Garden Club, West Brownsville Garden Club and the Ivy League Garden Club. Her floral arranging skill won her many awards at flower shows. She was a life member of the National Garden Clubs and the Wisconsin Federation of Garden Clubs.
Anne (Brandl) Coisman is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Janice G. (James) Brady and JeAnne G. (David) Chaudoir; as well as by three grandsons, Sean (Katie) Brady, Troy and Travis Chaudoir; a brother-in-law, Raymond Coisman and many nieces and nephews. Deceased are her parents, Charles and Barbara Brandl; her beloved husband, Harry; sister and brother-in-law, Hattie and Walton Jome; brother-in-law and sister- in-law, Norman and Wanda Coisman, and sister-in-law Vida Coisman.

In accordance with her wishes, she will be cremated in Brownsville, Texas. Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 13, 2015 In the South Chapel of Trevino Funeral Home, 1355 Old Port Isabel Road Brownsville, Texas.

Memorials in her name may be made to The American Heart Association.
