Alicia Salas Padrón, 84, was called by the Lord on January 1, 2015. She was born on April 23, 1930 in Aguas Blancas, Mexico.
From humble beginnings in a remote Mexican village to traveling throughout including twice visiting the Holy Land, her adventurous spirit and words of wisdom resonated among the young and old.
Alicia Padrón was an Interior Decorator for Home Interiors for over 25 years. She was an active member of St. Luke's Catholic Church as a Eucharist Minister for the elderly and impaired, CCD Teacher, CCD Director @ Cameron Park, a member of the Altar Society, Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary and Legión de Maria.
Alicia Padrón was preceded in death by her son Omar, parents Augusto and Pasqualita Salas and her sister Angela.
Mrs. Padrón is survived by her husband Oscar and their children, Oscar Jr. Oniver and Oswaldo (Leigh); brother Augusto, sisters Arcelia, Aurora, Rosalinda, Solfina, Olinda as well as 8 grandchildren, nieces, nephews, many relatives and friends.
Pallbearers are sons Oscar Jr., Oniver, Oswaldo, nephews Danny Vela, Augusto Salas III and Carlos Salas.
Visitation will be held at Trevino Funeral Home in Brownsville, TX on Sunday January 4, 2015 from 4:00 PM - 9:00 PM with a rosary at 7:00 PM.
Mass will be Monday January 5, 2014 at 1:30 PM at St. Luke's Catholic Church.
Burial will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park in Brownsville, TX.
