Brownsville, TX

Alejandro Velez, also known as Jando, left this world on September 12, 2024. Alejandro was born on September 19, 1972, in Brownsville, Texas, to his loving parents, Juan Velez and Zoila Rodriguez.

Alejandro was a man who embraced life with a spirit, indulging in various hobbies and interests. He held a special place in his heart for The Dallas Cowboys, passionately cheering for his team. His love for music was palpable; his talent for DJ-ing brought joy to many gatherings, creating memories that will resonate for years to come. His artistic endeavors reflected his soul—vibrant, expressive, and deeply engaging.

He leaves behind a loving family who will cherish his memory forever. His mother, Zoila Rodriguez, felt his love in every moment they shared. He was the adored brother of Juan Antonio (Michelle) Velez Jr., Clemente (Martha) Velez, and Guadalupe (Lucia Marquez) Velez. Alejandro played a cherished role as a caring brother to Paula (Gilberto) Vasquez and Maria (Juan) Rivera. In addition, his legacy is continued by numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members, who will fondly remember his gentle demeanor and welcoming spirit.

While Alejandro's physical presence may be gone, his spirit lives on in the hearts of those he touched. He joins his father, Juan Velez†, and his dear brother, Marcellino Velez†, along with his paternal grandparents, Juan G. Velez† and Paula R. Velez†, and his maternal grandparents, Clemente and Maria Rodriguez†, who have welcomed him with open arms.

Alejandro's honorary pallbearers are Dulce A. Velez, Annahee G. Velez, Gilberto Vasquez, Michael Vasquez, Juan Velez III and Clemente J. Velez.
