Agustin Castillo, a cherished family member, entered eternal rest on January 2, 2026, in Brownsville, Texas. He lived a life led by kindness and selflessness, leaving a lasting mark on all who had the privilege to know him.
He was known for his beautiful soul and his unwavering dedication to those around him. Agustin had the ability to lift spirits with his jokes and laughter, reminding his loved ones to cherish every moment. His selfless nature made him a dependable family member and friend, always there to lend a helping hand.
Agustin was devoted to his family, who are left to cherish his memory: his children, Blanca Castillo Romero, Agustin Castillo Jr., Jessica (Luis) Castillo Lozoya, and Anna (Santos Guzman Jr.) Castillo; and his beloved grandchildren, Jose Luis Lozoya Jr., Jacob Romero, Jaime Lozoya, Jorge Lozoya, and Jimena Lozoya. He is also survived by his siblings, Hortencia (Manuel) Vela, Rafael Castillo, Enrique Castillo, and other family members.
Preceding him in death were his wife, Ana Maria Castillo; his son, Aaron Castillo; his parents, Rafael and Tomasa Castillo; and his son-in-law, Cesar Romero.
Agustin had a variety of interests that brought him joy throughout his life. He took great pleasure in fixing cars, doing yard work, and watching old shows and movies. In his leisure time, he enjoyed trying his luck with scratch-offs and lotto cards.
A visitation for Agustin will be held on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at Trevino Funeral Home located at 1355 Old Port Isabel Road, Brownsville, TX, from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Following the visitation, a prayer service will take place from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The following day, Wednesday, January 7, 2026, another visitation will occur at the same location from 8:15 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. A Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, located at 1055 Military Road, Brownsville, TX, starting at 12:00 p.m., followed by burial at Buena Vista Burial Park at 1024 Mc Davitt Blvd, Brownsville, TX, at 1:00 p.m.
Agustin’s pallbearers will be Enrique Castillo, Jose Luis Lozoya Jr., Jacob Romero, Jaime Lozoya, Jose Luis Lozoya, Santos Guzman and Jorge Lozoya.
May Agustin rest in eternal peace, remembered by all as a man of grace, warmth, and most importantly, love.
